pretty good

I gotta say, it was pretty "phat". I have the original and the lyrics version, and I listen to them constantly. Tough song to beat, but your tribute is great! Nice progression at the beginning. I like the phased synth arp, but when it reaches its highest peak, its a bit shrill. I'm not sure how you layered this, but all I can suggest is some compression and EQing is in need. I find the higher bands are a bit high, especially near the end.
I understand this is a WIP, but I would like to hear a breakdown, where its soft and just the piano is playing.
As for the vocals, they are quite nice, more of a support then a main focus. Overall I quite enjoyed this track, and look forward to future improvements =)

Hope some of that was helpful X_X

Kazmo responds:

Don't worry, I think everything everyone says is helpful, that's why I appreciate reviews, or else I can't improve!!! :D

Thanks for the insight, I didn't really notice a problem with the highs though, maybe it's your headphones/speakers? :/

I'll look into it nonetheless.

Thanks again for the feedback!!! :]

nice

Sounds a bit heavy for general rock. Should probably be in heavy metal, or industrial. The last half is real intense. The only thing I can see thats wrong with it, is the quality.

DarkZhero responds:

Yeah That is something im working atm...that´s why it said "1st test" :P

perfect

This is one of the few NG songs ive actually downloaded. I listen to it obsessivly XD. I personally think that little fax machine intro was kinda lame. Its way quieter then the rest of the song and I find myself cranking the volume up, just to turn it back down again lol. I havent heard the original so I cant compare, but ive never heard anything like this. The beat, melodys and synth work is just superb. I feel that its lacking a solid snare/clap? I mean the beat all meshes together nicely, but I think a more present snare hit would make it sound a little better. To sum it up... perfect song besides the intro :D

SkyMarshall responds:

Hey man! The fax-machine is actually the disk-drive of an Amiga 500, just to clear that up. Unsignificant as that piece of information was - I agree on the volume-mastering on it. But done is done.

Im DAMN glad I got a no-downloader to convert to the yes side, thats cool. And as for the snare/clap, I usually go with the more present ones. But this time around I tried to keep true to the original "darkwave"-genre with a little peculiar percussion-sequencing. Fun to try out different things now and then.

Anyway, appreciate the review. Thanks a lot man :)

nice man

XD I was playin cod 5 sorry I didnt respond on msn. Im too lazy to play all 3 in a row to see how well they transition. But the first 2 were good, and this ones no exception. How many episodes are there gonna be? Anyways fived it, good work///

F-777 responds:

Haha thanks man =).
There should be 7 episodes i think =).

Thanks again man!

cool

nice song man. Sounds good. Kinda video gamey melodys, with zippy synths ftw. Only thing I think needs work are the drums.

SlashLock responds:

Yeah, I fully agree. I plan to do an updated version when I get round to ressurecting the computer its stored on. Thanks for the input and the ten!

awesome

Great! superb! Flawless! Don't change anything. Keep making stuff like this so you never improve!

Dj-Rippa responds:

Thank you very much!
Im feeling this may be the style I will be using from now on :)
Thanks for the great review :D

nice

Just found out about you recently. You my friend are talented XD Love the energy you pack into your songs. In the intro did you use a sample from the resident evil theme? The one made by marilyn manson? Thot I heard that XD oh well. Anyways, this song is full of epic win. 5ed, 10ed and favourited xP

SkyMarshall responds:

Love that you love the energy I desperately try to make each time :) Thats great feedback. And yes, I did sample Marilyn Manson for the ambient behind the vocal samples actually - just to set the tone. Good find :)

A spectacular review full of awesomeness. Thanks =)

hmm

I can definately hear hardstyle influences, however this surely isnt techno. You have a bell sounding synth with a strange melody, backed by video game sounds? Then theres crowd clapping I think... and a hardstyle beat to top it off. hmmm..... Doesnt work in my opinion. Too much conflict in your song. The only part I liked is the vox release intro.

Dj-Rippa responds:

That's a shame you think that way...
everyone else likes it :S
maybe you need to open up your mind a little more to music and enjoy it for what it really is!
Thanks for the review :)

eh?

I didnt like the kick sample you used, and the reversed clap in the intro sounds odd... Your lyrics and your melodys arent tuned properly in alot of parts. The melodys alright, too jumpy and happy for me. The lyrics are kinda annoying after a while, but thats not a big issue... however, you could of mixed it alot better / mixed it up for variation, rather then just repeating it non-stop throughout the whole song. Really didn't like this song, sorry.

Dj-Rippa responds:

Thank you for once again telling me what you dont like about my music....
If your looking for professional tracks, perhaps you should search iTunes or a pay-for-music website!
This is free music man and its old as well.
Sorry that the song was happy and your not a happy person...
I did not take into consideration that downers would not like the song :)

whoa

it starts off with a low dark effect, that sets a creepy atmosphere. Its not repetitive as Its well variated and harmonically full. After a minute of setting the mood, the most insane sweep ever kicks in. Sick man, sick

DarkMcShadowX responds:

thank you!
